Victim Six. By Gregg Olsen (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

Started May 30th, 2013.Not too bad, but at least one glaring mistake in the storyline: the reporter agrees early on that her phone can be tapped for recording the calls by the police - without approval of her editor and without telling him. That is not followed up and given the setup it would have helped and solved the case much earlier.Ending not too convincing, was mostly what I expected early on.Could have been a bit tighter, sometimes the side-roles where too long explained in the text. Very sluggish until about page 150, and then it was so good I just read it all in one sitting. Reason for that was because one had to fly through the massive quantity of chaff and fluff to get to the "good" stuff.Well-written and well-organized but, towards the end, the material was screaming that the modus operandi was that of Karla and Bernardo Homolka (Canadian serial killers). When the author named someone "Bernardo," that clinched it for me. Also, it seemed that the resolution (and ending) came up fairly abruptly--especially when compared to the first 150 pages: the pace was inconsistent.

Took me close to two months to finally finish this. I almost dumped this. I hate hate it. Horrible.

Pretty good. I think that it could've been a little better, but I did enjoy reading it.

Meh. This book was okay. Not great but not terrible either.
