The Inimitable Jeeves (1923) - Plot & Excerpts

Not my favorite book because Bingo Little's issues of the heart became too much real fast. I think my least favorite short story in this collection was the one with all the bucolic contests. That one was way too long and boring. My favorite part was definitely the story where Bertie had to undergo a psychiatric evaluation conducted by Sir Roderick Glossop, the one with the cats, the fish and the hat. Also, the twist at the very end of the book, that was hilarious! Once or twice a year I try again with Jeeves, and I am always disappointed. "I had an item of clothing that my butler disliked. I or someone like me got into contrived trouble involving women or gambling. My butler suggested a solution. It seemed at first like the plan had gone wrong, but eventually we realized that it had actually succeeded in an unexpected way. To reward my butler, I discarded the offending garment." As wheezes go, this one gets rather thin quickly, what what?

My first Wodehouse and I enjoyed it immensely. It was light and fun.

A great series of stories loosely tied together into a novel.
