Bien esta es la segunda parte de la saga de “La Hermandad de la Espada” Lo comencé a leer, porque era de aquellas veces en que sientes esa cosa rara de “TIENES” que leerlo, no era una opción, sino más bien un deber, uno que te nace cuando la primera entrega es buena y crees que la segunda quizás sea mejor y pues bien, esta vez, sí, lo fue. Deno recalcar que ayudó bastante el hecho de que estuviera basado en esta época, lo que hace que un interés más bien del pasado ayude bastante, pero en fin.Bien el libro comienza cuando una Reina va en busca de su esposo, uno que solo recuerda de edad infantil cuando fueron casados y obligados a firmar un contrato cuando a esas edad lo único que querían era jugar. Ahora ella bajo la amenaza de alguien que quiere su reino va en busca de su esposo o de al menos un heredero. Esto sin duda al comienzo parece no ser una más de tantas aventuras que comienzan igual y que el final será de aquellas más que conocidos y que solo será una novela más del montón que tienen la misma trama y que hace que nos encontremos con que las ideas nuevas se han acabado. Quizás si sea algo de ello, pero la verdad es que la trama que arma cada uno de los libros de esta saga es lo que me llama la atención. El hecho que los hiciera formar esta hermandad y lo que luchan, el por qué ciertas cosas que los harían más felices por la fidelidad a unos hombres que están destruidos psicológicamente por el pasado.Christian es el esposo de la reina, aquel que fue prisionero sarraceno y que el destino lo hizo ser el consejero espiritual de muchos de aquellos que se encontraban con el, mismo trabajo que le hizo recibir e nombre de Abad. La personalidad de él me gustó mucho más que la de Stryder, del primer libro, es más reprimida, triste y mucho más oscura, lo que hace que al menos a mi como lectora, se me haga mucho más fácil entenderlo después de todo lo que tuvo que pasar, que la de alguien que actúa demasiado bien. No quiere ser rey, pero el destino le preara otras cosas que lo hacen cambiar de opinión, siendo su esposa uan de ellas. Me gusta como es él, me gusta su forma de actuar y el hecho de que usara una túnica de monje y utilizara su apodo aún fuera de prisión para escaparse de las mujeres deseosas de matrimonio, me causó bastante gracia.Adara la reina en cuestión me agradó de principio a fin, cuando se presenta frente a él desnuda para consumar su matrimonio y se espanta al verlo con la túnica monje, hasta el final, cuando acepta que debe dejar quizás libre a Christian por la fidelidad de este hacia la Hermandad. Es un personaje fuerte y de ideas claras, con un objetivo fijo que hace que deba hacer lo que sea para cumplirlo y así no dejar que su pueblo sea liderado por un tirano. Lo Mejor: Quizás la trama principal, el asunto de cómo continúa siendo fuerte la Hermandad y lo que esta provoca en los hombres pertenecientes a ella. El como la relación de Adara y Christian se va fortaleciendo más por los peligros que pasan y la fidelidad que luego comienza a ser más entre ellos que hacia los demás. Lo Bueno: La poca extensión de libro. Como ya les comenté los libros de estos temas llaman mucho mi atención y el que sea un libro corto hace que muchas partes deban pasar demasiado rápido, pero no es más que un detalle.Lo recomiendo igual que la primera entrega, más como un libro para un viaje. No intentes buscar en el, una trama demasiado rebuscada y con cosas demasiado complicadas, porque creo que no lo encontrarás, sino más bien como una novela romántica que quiere que te sientas agradable con ella. Que disfruten y espero que les guste.
Historia igual de fantástica a las demás. Le doy 4 estrellas para un 4.5 como calificación.Tenemos a Christian como protagonista, un hombre igual de profundo y atormentado que los demás. Adara, la princesa y esposa de Christian me parece genial, muy comprometida comprensiva, y sobre todo apasionada. Amé ambos personajes, en mi opinión se complementan perfectamente, hacen una pareja genial. Ese magnetismo que los une desde el primer momento, esa chispa que poco a poco va creciendo entre ellos y ese amor inmenso que terminan sintiendo el uno por el otro hace de ésta una novela exquisita. A ésto hay que agregar que es totalmente impredecible, en todo momento son sorpresas y más sorpresas que hacen que nos quedemos prendados hasta el final; ésto es algo que siempre subrayo al reseñar las novelas de ella, y creo que no dejaré de hacerlo porque es uno de los rasgos que la caracterizan.Tengo que decir que cuando leí el epílogo de la entrega anterior, me imaginaba algo totalmente diferente, prometía mucho ésta escena que se describe, sin embargo no fue nada de lo que esperaba: aquí de nuevo se hace evidente la impredecibilidad de la que hacen gala las novelas de la autora y aunque no me esperaba que todo fuera como fue, debo decir que me encantó y me maravilló en igual medida. En esta novela, tenemos de nuevo esas cosas que caracterizan a las novelas de Kinley Mac Gregor: Humor y romanticismo hasta decir ahí no más, millares de emociones que transmite lo que viven los personajes y unas inmensas ganas de devorar la novela sin parar. Algo fundamental en los escritos de la autora es la sensualidad y la pasión que surge desde el primer momento en los personajes, y creo que sin ellos no sería lo mismo, aunque se hace muy tópico en sus novelas.Algo sucede y es que, aunque es la penúltima novela de la serie y ha sido una experiencia maravillosa, creo que se queda corta. Es decir, me quedaré con las ganas de conocer la historia de amor del Fantasma (creo que compactó con Corryn desde el primer momento), de algunos miembros de la Hermandad, quisiera saber qué pasa finalmente con los cautivos y los miembros que han sido liberados y qué relación tiene con los McAllister. Ya conozco que la Hermandadd y los MacAllister están relacionados con Simón, pero quiero saber mucho más. Y espero quedar satisfecha con la última parte; aun así es lamentable que no haya una historia aparte para el Fantasma.Espero con ansias el momento en que me siente a disfrutar de la última novela. Tengo una gran opinión de la serie y espero que ésta, como mínimo, esté a la altura de las demás.

Adara and Christian- such heroic, amazingly strong characters! I absolutely adored the take-charge nature of Adara's character and the honor-charge nature of Christian. Both were the quintessential romance story, for the two undoubtedly needed each other. I was very impressed with the plot of this book because it definitely seemed to be splotchy on its surface (at least after having read the book synopsis), which was perhaps why it took me so long to start reading this book. However, as always, Sherri did a marvelous job of pulling off the story line. I was overwhelmingly impressed with Phantom's character, and am quite interested to see where his story line will deviate off too. My only regret for this book is the fact that I took so long to start it, and finish. (Life's drama got in the way!)So, as a result, I don't have a tremendous amount to say about the story. Having taken such a long break in reading, I can't accurately depict my feelings overall for the story, aside to say I did in fact love it! Weak though the evidence may be.

While I enjoyed this story, I must agree with other reviewers that the plot really drags. For me, there were SEVERAL times I felt the book could have ended, but just kept going. I am happy to note that the relationship took time to grow..... But that doesn't mean the storyline needed to have the reader actually feel the time dragging along. What I "liked" about the story, (and please, it is an Historical Romance... we are talking about Virgins having S-E-X for the next first time!) out of all the romance novels I have read over the past year (because I truly only began reading them a year ago!) this is one of only two were the woman is actually in great pain during her first sexual experience. I found that interesting and very realistic! Yes, it was a bit difficult to read, but our Author has done an AMAZING job with this scene and how it plays out!

WOW! I loved this book, this book was the first book of the 'brotherhood' series I read even though it was the 5th (from what i remember) in the series it was far one of the best books I’ve read. The brotherhood series is basically a secret band of people who have survived the holy land and came back stronger yet scared from their experiences. They form a brotherhood and protect each other, vowing if any other is in need they will help. They escaped from an Arab prison during the crusades where they were abused and beaten. They were virtually children. Boys and Girls from different backgrounds. Lords and commoners alike. A band of brothers formed and protected the weak in the prison and between them they managed to escape. But some couldn’t escape and were left behind and they either grew resentful and twisted with their hate and became the enemy of the brotherhood, or they realised their was no other way to survive and joined the other side. The whole series revolves around different characters of the brotherhood, they are scared, some arrogant, some tortured souls and some scary and hot all at the same time. They meet women who are strong enough to show them how to love and trust and they slowly come out of their shell to them. But not without some laughs and upsets along the way. Also quite a lot of surprises!This story starts in striders story 'dark champion' where Christian is sent to meet someone. Since leaving his past behind after the Holy land Christian pledged as the rest of the brotherhood are to helping his fellow 'brothers' from the enemy who are out to kill them all. You don’t find out who the enemy are at first they seem to hide behind others first. Christian chooses to don a monk’s robes and is known as 'the abbot' to the brotherhood for his pious ways and would always be the hope and spirital guidance of his fellow prisoners so the name stuck. As he is waiting he finds that there is a beautiful woman waiting for him in his room naked. She 'Adara' a queen of a neighbouring country of his birth and has come to claim the man she was married to as a child. Un-be-known to him they are man and wife and she has been waiting for him to come and take his place next to her. She explains that they were married as children and needs help to clear her kingdom of the man who wants the throne from her. Who has taken Christians kingdom and is hell bent on taking Adaras. Christian at first refuses to help. But then as the story goes on he finds that he needs her and can’t be without her. They meet some wonderful characters on the way. This book is far the best one of the series even thought they are all great. I love this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves all things romantic and likes there hero’s to be huge, macho, adoring, handsome, scared pig headed bad boys who are just aching to be tamed!
