Vixen blinked at Dasher, embarrassed to find his Rein Dear brother had been speaking to him, and he hadn’t heard a word. It had been like this all day. He was surprised he’d managed to concentrate at the Causeway. He’d completed all his preflight checks, carried out his in-flight procedures, made the test run, completed his paperwork, filed it, even finished off a few pending tasks. Rudy had been stunned speechless when Vixen came out of his hangar at the end of their shift.
