Der Quantenzauberer (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

I read the book W.A.R.P. The Reluctant Assassin by Eoin Colfer. W.A.R.P. is about a boy named Riley who was adopted by a man named Albert Garrick, who is a murderer. Riley was accused of murder and had to stay with W.A.R.P. FBI agent Chevie and Riley have to survive from Garrick who is trying to capture Riley again. Garrick tries to get to his time with great power and knowledge. In my opinion, the book W.A.R.P. The Reluctant Assassin wasn’t a very good book. It lost my interest at a lot of parts. I prefer books that are gory and frightening. W.A.R.P. was more about trying to get away from someone. I had a hard time reading this book because it didn’t have enough action in it for me.I wouldn’t recommend this book to any of my friends. I would recommend it to someone with patience. Also, to someone who likes books that are a little weird but aren’t creepy. This book. Oh man. If you never got on the Artemis Fowl train when you were younger, you might not realize the amazingness that is Colfer and his storytelling. The man is amazing. Fantasy and tech and the UK, funny creative multicultural characters who get into really scary situations, great action that doesn’t get bogged down in the details so much it gets boring. This one is a new series featuring a 17-year-old Native American FBI agent girl, a 14-year-old orphan “street-rat” from 1898 London (think the Artful Dodger) and a super-secret time-traveling witness protection program. There’s a legitimately scary bad guy, classic Colfer humor in high stakes, wonderful characters, and fast-paced storytelling that is predictable enough to be comforting but a joy to watch play out.

What do You think about Der Quantenzauberer (2014)?

Good adventure with a sci-fi twist throne in. Chapters were a bit long but story was engaging.

Too graphic with the killings. Not what I would consider good for a young reader.

Quite enjoyable! I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
