Apollyon (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Okay so things are really messed-up in this book. Everything can go do will go even worse. For real. I love how much Aiden and Alex are getting along as a couple now, and they don't given a fuck about it. True love there.Seth has gone nuts! But redemption is still there, possible. I believe that. I really hope that.So many things have gone wrong... Alex's suffered too much (the Ares stuff was painful to read), it's time for peace. And I believe next boo will make everything right for her and Aiden. Hopefully, the others too. Really loving this series. Alex is becoming a character I genuinely like (at first she was very much a typical teenager albeit one with some super powers, but she definitely needed an attitude adjustment). I love that we are watching her character evolve into an admirable adult regardless of being the Apollyon. Highlights from this book: breaking the connection with Seth and leaving Evil Alex behind; openly being together with Aiden; the roadtrip with Aiden to the Underworld to speak with Solaris, Caleb, and Persephone; the loss of Lea right in front of Alex's eyes; Romvi being Ares (I suspected the evil god was disguised as Romvi) and torturing Alex while Aiden and Marcus are locked out of the room; being saved by Apollo, healed by Asclepius in Olympus, and reunited with her mom briefly. Can't wait for book #5!

What do You think about Apollyon (2013)?

I really liked the plot and the characters in this book. It's interesting and there are some unexpected twists and I would probably gave this book 5 stars, but Alex and Aiden are soooo gross. Come on! They're kissing all the time! The world is coming to an end and instead of making plans of saving it they're doing god knows what(literary Apollo must have a pretty good idea about it, because the number of times he ruined their alone time is astronomical). It became so annoying I was thinking about putting this book down(but I loved the story way to much to actually do that). But despite that I think it was amazing! So much happens and you're never bored, even when they're on 10 hours long of a road trip.... Oh and I almost forgot, why isn't there any daimons? Not that I l actually like them, but just wondering.

Spoiler Alert- I did love this book/series, and I admire how Armentrout isn't afraid to dole out some serious harshness to her heroines. It's kinda like watching Supernatural. You think "how are they going to top this?" Then something mind blowing happens like Alex's "fight," or rather her "beat down," from Ares. Seriously, they say it sucks to be Frodo, but his injuries were child's play compared to Alex's. She is almost collecting battle damage at this point. She's totally hardcore.
