The Rent-A-Groom (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

Gina cancels her wedding days before the event when she walks in on her fiance in bed with her best friend/maid of honor. She can't cancel the hotel suite booked for the honeymoon so rather than waste it she goes there alone. Unfortunately, her ex-fiance and ex-best friend are staying in the room next to hers. She is embarrassed and doesn't want him to know she is alone so when Race appears telling her he is from Rent-A-Gent and was hired and paid for by a third party to pretend to be her husband she grabs the chance to make it look like she is not alone.I enjoyed this fun story about Race pretending to be Gina's boyfriend in order to make her ex regret what he lost. I loved the way Gina and Race played up their 'relationship' when her ex and the other woman were around. I have read a lot of romances but this book was actually romantic! I really can't say I have read many stories where the characters are romantic. The twist near the end was amazing. I sure didn't expect it and I love it when a story surprises me like that. This is a must read, feel good story that I highly recommend. k, yes there could have been just a little more character build up. Yet it was still an enjoyable read. Compared to some of the other free short stories that I have gotten to read, this one was extremely long. I really enjoyed Race & Gina's chemistry, guarded yet easy going enough to have fun at the expense of her ex. Who insisted on bringing his new girlfriend to spy on her. The other character I enjoyed was Etta she was a hoot with a soft heart. Race is more then meets the eye.

Story line is nice but some of the writing is very "out dated" feels like a '70s book
