I like her writing style and found her characters quirky but down-to-earth. I'll definitely pick up more books by this author. My rating: 4 Stars. It was very funny in places and very heart rending in others. In other words, I laughed and cried. I do like a spunky woman character and this definitely had one of those in Willa. However, it seemed that a lot of the woman characters were very independent even in their small roles.This is another book you could read in an afternoon, as it moves very quickly and you want to keep turning the pages to see what else would happen before the two people finally came together. There isn't really a big mystery here as to what is going to happen, but the road that was taken was a very interesting one. Willa's profession was unique as well. I am not sure that I know any woman casket builders. So this made the book unique. It also showed Willa's compassion for others and the way she was able to handle people that she felt were in trouble or needed help.These is one small error in the book and that is Ms Chapman said something about the Red Sox and the Yankees being in the World Series. That would never happen in this time as they are both in the same league. However, if it was a fantasy then anything could happen.
