The Hit Man - Plot & Excerpts

It wasn’t going to be easy, but it was do-able. I stood around a darkened corner in a back alley and listened as the Latino worker spoke with one of his fellow employees. My Spanish speaking abilities filled me in on their conversation, and it of course it was about a female coworker.
I waited until they were done smoking and slipped into the kitchen area. I made sure to stay close against the wall so I wouldn’t be caught on surveillance. The way I was dressed served the purpose of hiding my identity, but the ski mask and dark clothing screamed trouble to any prospective security guard who could possibly be watching the monitors. Normally I had an inside source who could get me into a building for a couple of hundred bucks, but as luck would have it—I didn’t in this case.
I slid past the guard on duty and made my way onto the elevator, he had been more engrossed in a ball game that was on the TV screen in front of him, than the monitors he was being paid to watch.
