Silver Shadows (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

4.5 stars.Freaking best cliffhanger i think i've ever read!!! the feels!!!! aaaahhhhh oh my god oh my god no!! why?! ahhh fangirling sorry the end. It's the best book in the series so far because it branches out of the same plot of doing dangerous things and building up and up until a big fight at the end and a romantic realization. That's a rough outline of what it would be like but this one finally says fuck that im doing what i want! which by the way is practically what sydney and adrian do :D It was great getting to see the inside of alchemists thoughts and agendas and re-education. It was painfully descriptive and suspenseful. Adrians just getting better and better as it goes, he has problems; obviously, but he deals with them (almost) and moves on. Eddie is just bae, seriously its amazing. A bit far fetched at times but still vivid and painful and amazing. The only fault is how stupid they are! its that magic apprentice girl that took jill you idiots!! she took sydneys hair or something in the bathoom and went after jill!! ah we need jill back :'( anyway. Overall freaking great improvement, its one big wad of feels, cliffhanging, breath-holding, loving, hating, laughing and yelling at characters wrapped into a book, can't wait for the ruby circle (think we can all guess what thats about) :) !!! This was amazing in the romance department. The whole book is built on Sydney-Adrian romance, so we see a lot less of the palm springs team. I found the gritty details of re-education both thorough and exciting. I loved how she was to build some semblence of a life around herself even in those circumstances. I wished Duncan and Chantelle had gotten re-union lines. I was quite annoyed when Adrian and co left the evil alchemists safe and sound, even as said alchemists promised to kill them as soon as they tracked them down. I wondered why Adrian used a voice glamour with strong suggestion instead of outright compulsion like Lissa use to do. It may consume more power but the alchemists they left behind would have been a lot less resourceful if they had confused memories or at least nice big bumps on their heads. The build up was great. And the ending even better. Vegas was astoundingly sweet though there were way too many close calls. But hey it was fun to read ;-). I really hope Mead builds on Sydney's challenges of making a life for herself at court. That would be fun. Though of course she will be successful. If she could handle suspicious disgusted alchemists class mates and turn them around to like her, I have good hope she will bedazzle everyone at court too. Adrian's evasion about not telling Sydney about his mental health is getting ominous. Had a lot of fun reading this book. The vampire academy world is still just as interesting as ever. Still addicted to Mead's outstanding writing. Awaiting tht next book already.. :D
