Dark Swan: Storm Born Volume 1 (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

I feel like I would have enjoyed this graphic novel if I had read the books. I found out after I read this novel that there actually was a series of books that this took after.Overall, the heroine had a very bad-ass persona, but the storyline was lacking a lot. I felt like the graphic novel didn't convey what Mead was trying to put out. One thing I did like, was that the artist also drew the Anita Blake comics. That's always a bonus. Overall, i won't read the rest of the graphic novels but I may pick up the books. This review is for the graphic novel. Comics 1 - 4. They stayed pretty close to the novel and it worked really good. I have mixed feelings about the art work. Besides the first cover, the rest of the art work is across between an 80's. Cartoon with Aeon Flux. Not a big fan of Aeon Flux art work, but as a whole I really enjoyed it. It's pretty awesome to see the characters in color. Would be cool to see it as a tv show.
