Audience - Boys and Girls, Age three to Third Grade. Teachers, Parents, Early Childhood Programs. Appeal - This is a cute book about a young boy who wonders what it would be like to travel on a pirate ship. His mother reassures him through the book that there is nothing that would keep her from finding him. This would be a good book for parents to read to their children and also for teachers to read to young students who are still unsure about the school setting. In this sweet homage of sorts to Runaway Bunny (by the remarkable Ms. Brown), here is a charming Mother-to-the- rescue tale that would be wee pirates - who like to imagine that a grouty,ahoy matey, kind of life would be fun to lead, but also might get a teensy bit alarmed by the thrilling run of their imagination, will find very soothing. And what mother reading this won't enjoy being the hero. Better get an empty spray bottle around for afterwards, just in case.
