More About Boy: Roald Dahl's Tales From Childhood (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

Roald Dahl starts the story by telling about his family, both in England and in Norway. The story continues when he finally starts his school at the age of seven years old. He tells about the incident with Mrs. Prachett when Roald and some of his friends put a mouse in the candy jar. Later he tells about when he pretended to have appendicitis, just because he was homesick. The idea he’d got from his ancient sister since she really had appendicitis a while earlier. At that time he attended St. Peters school, which was a boarding school. Roald Dahl is a hero for me because he teaches different kids lessons that they should know in their lives and is a great example to children. Something that is good about Roald Dahl is that he is honest person and writes famous and interesting books to children. Five facts that everyone should know about Roald Dahl is that he is a professional children writer, he was a fighter pilot, Before writing he also served in the Air Force and fought in the World War two, he was in the list of ‘The 50 greatest British writers since 1945’. This are my five facts that everyone should know about the famous author Roald Dahl. I would recommend this great non-fiction book to both young and old people, because this talks about an author’s life and every single person is allowed to know about someone’s life this book also will be very interesting to fourth graders to adults. Also I would recommend it to non-fiction lovers and adults and kids that love Roald Dahl. I've never been a keen reader when it comes to biography. I've picked up a couple of so for the past 10 years I've been into this reading business. And I must say it takes an extraordinary skill to keep your readers engaged when you are telling your life stories.I've always known for a fact that Roald Dahl is a talented storyteller. As much as I have enjoyed his children books, the same can be extent to this bio of his. I was immediately hooked the moment I started reading. In telling his fascinating stories and experiences, Dahl expertly manipulated his story-telling skill,it resulted an enjoyable journey to the past. It's wittily engaging, just like his children fiction, only this is real. Also, it's great to know where did he get his idea from to write the stories. Almost all of his stories and characters were based on real people and events. I wonder what his ex-matron, headmasters and teachers would feel if they happened to read this bio. Offended? Glad that at least Dahl is telling the truth? And finallyyyyy I get to learn how to pronounce his name correctly. It's ROO-arl. I always pronounced it as ROE-ld before. I'm bad at pronunciation, I know. Haha.Overall, a nicely put biography!
