Stavros eased his lips from hers and tenderly brushed a lock of hair away from her face. “What are you thinking?” It was time to be brutally honest. “What if none of this is real? Oh, I believe that you’re an immortal warrior and that Hades was just here.” And how weird was it to say that and not be under the influence of alcohol or heavy medication. “But what about us?” His expression never changed, but she knew she’d disappointed him, hurt him on a deep level. She’d come to know him so well in such a short time and caught the telltale way his mouth tightened and his eyes darkened. That gave her pause.
