Loyalty In Death (2004) - Plot & Excerpts

So, I was going to patiently wait until the next books came through but then I got book 10 from the library before I got books 7, 7.5, 8, and 9. After waiting patiently for 2 weeks, I finally took matters into my own hands and drove to two other Libraries to collect them all because 10 has to be back in 3 dyas! I'm telling you this because it could be the over-exposure but the mysteries just haven't been doing it for me in the last few books. And EVe is even getting on my nerves. The way she acts towards people, I don't understand how she has friends. The saving grace of this book was the extra focus on Peabody and McNab. they were hilarious and sweet. And meeting Zeke was awesome too. I do wish that we had gotten a little more conclusion on his story. Like what happens to him now? Will he go home or stay in NY? He was such a great, honest, sweet character. I felt as nervous for him as Peabody. The mystery in this one again was complex and maybe...I don't know, something. I think like the last one getting the POV of the killer or the letters/calls from the bad guy to other people in this one, it's throwing off the flow for me. I liked figuring it out with Eve and now we are getting extra information that is distracting. I don't know exactly if that's it or not, but I do know there is just something off. Hoping the next is better and then it will be time for another little break from them again. I have to say that there are some things in these books that have been creepy. Like the technology, and people talking about missing holding actual books and the video phones that seem like skype and things that are like ipads... Then in this one add to it terrorists attacking NY and DC and even with all the mentioning of NY landmarks we never even hear about the trade center and the fact that this book came out originally in 1999 it's all spooky. The next one is about theatre which is what I do for a living so I'm excited!I apologize for typos and poor grammar in this review as I have fallen asleep twice while writing it. I'll correct it later...

A breathtaking book with a lot of twists and progress about the characters. I totally loved it !!For once, Lieutenant Eve Dallas mustn't face a murder or at least not a mere one. She is confronted to the prospect of thousands of deads when a terrorist group named Cassandra threatens to put NYC to fire and the sword. It's in a unbridled time trial that Eve is tangled where appearances are more than misleading.I totally loved the plot that was much much better than in the book before: it's panting, twisted, freaky and when you think it's over, there is a new twist !! It was AWESOME !I love the New York of the future that the author depicts: there are many details and small anedoctes that make the city lively and awfully real !!I loved meeting Zeeke, Peabody's brother with his whole Free-Ager philosophy but the thing I loved MOST is seeing Peabody FINALLY make out with McNabb >< I sooo hope they will carry on because they are soo cute together (and I 'm such a huge fan of Peabody x) )Only one flaw: the death of Anne Maloy. At the very moment she said she was pregnant, I knew that the author was going to kill her. This is THE cliché and I was a little disappointed that the author uses it.Still a book to read !!

What do You think about Loyalty In Death (2004)?

I loved this book... I really did! I loved the intriguing story, the unbelievable plot twists and all that "cop work".But I hated both Roarke and Eve in some parts of the book. They both have a problem with boundaries....as in, they have none! Eve had no business trying to run Peabody's and McNab's personal life(something she also did with Peabody and Charles). The girl needs to learn that some things she needs to get her nose out of!And Roarke should have more respect for Eve's job and only interfere after she asks for help. I don't enjoy the fact that he thinks he has a right to stick his nose in her cases.

Yes! Yes! Yes! This book was awesome! Why am I so excited when I know that this series is great? Because finally it happens something that I was expecting! I will tell you what in a while! So, another amazing book in this futuristic series by J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts.I have to say that this installment gives us a better view of the futuristic world and the way things are in this time. Also, it gives us a lesson to their history very important to the story of this book. Eve has to deal with a very different case and a very difficult one. We are talking about terrorists and explosions in the whole city that leave behind many dead people. And not only that. Eve has to deal with two murders that seem like an easy case but it’s far from it.Eve is amazing in this book! I admire her because she is the perfect person to deal with the worst situations. Many people think that she is cold and that she doesn’t show any emotion but the truth definitely lies elsewhere. She cares and she cares deeply, but she’s afraid to show it. Without knowing it, she was very protective towards Peabody and I found this situation cute, although I truly believe that it was too much!Roarke as always is awesome! Sexy, smart, badass and with enough money to buy the entire galaxy! I love the way he is, not only with Eve but with the people his wife cares about. He’s still is a mystery for me and I believe that we don’t know not even the half about him.But the best part in this book? PEABODY AND MCNAB! Finally!!!!! Their chemistry is beyond words and their scenes in this book simply AMAZING!This book was the most fast-paced from the series so far and the suspense at the end was killing me! I absolutely love this series and I will keep reading it! I recommend it to all the fans of this genre!

Let me first say that being able to switch back and forth between my kindle book and my audible audiobook is such an addictive thing. Ok, now that that's out of the way, I'll get to this review. I had put this series aside for about 2 years and now I'm getting back into it. I read the first 8 books pretty much back to back and I think I got burned out. Now that I've had some distance from it and I'm returning, I know why I devoured them so quickly when I first started.I absolutely loved this. I love Eve, I love Roarke, I love Peabody, and Mavis. I love New York in the year 2059. And I love JD Robb's writing style. This story had so many twists and turns, I thought I knew what was going on and then it would turn a different way and I'd have to start over again. I loved that! I also loved that Eve is starting to accept the fact that she is human and not a droid so she has emotions and that's ok. I love the way that Roarke is able to give her what she needs.I'm going to to *try* to give myself little breaks in between books as to not get burned out, but man, this series is fantastic! And the narrator of the audiobooks (Susan Ericksen) is fantastic! She truly is Eve Dallas!
