Love, Aubrey (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

This book is an all time favorite. I gave it five stars because I can connect to the main character and understand why she makes the descision a she makes. Aubrey is a strong willed and stubborn girl who does what she wants to do. I recommend this to people who enjoy a tragedy, and a comedy at the same time. This book introduced me to a lot of new emotions. I laughed, cried, and connected with the characters really well. The deeper meaning is that everyone will lose people, at any point in time. I think everyone should read this book, even if it's for young kids. Title: Love Aubrey Author: Suzanne LaFleur The plotSomething terribly sad has happened to 11 year old Aubrey. She is alone. At first it was fun, having no one to tell her what to do, but then it started getting harder. She was lonely and didn’t know how to cope … the book tells a story of how Aubrey comes to terms with what has happened to her and gets her life back on track. With the help of her loving Gram and the letters she writes, Aubrey begins to stop hiding away, and tries to accept the fact that her mother isn’t coming back for her. HighlightsThere is a lovely twist at the end of the book. I will not tell you what happens as that will spoil it for readers. It is not a big finale at the end but it still leaves you with a smile on your face.WeaknessesThere are not many weaknesses at all in this book but I think the book could have moved at a quicker pace.Recommendation‘Love Aubrey’ is an intriguing and heart-warming story that will leave you with a smile on your face. I would recommend to girls over the age of 10 or 11.4.5/5
