Kõik, Millest Ta Eales Unistas (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

3.75, but I'll bump it up to 4 because of Josh's status as the youngest. This is book six of the Kowalski Family series. This is a fun, quick, and purely entertaining read. Things sort of come to a head in this book as far as the Maine Kowalskis go. Josh is the youngest of five, he's the only one that was still home when their father died. He's also the only one that was left at home to help his dad run Northern Star Lodge. It's not that he wanted to. It's not that he had a burning desire to take over. It just sorta happened. He's felt trapped most of his life. He loves his family and he doesn't want to let them down. They all think that Josh is doing exactly what he's always wanted to do. I mean, he was the one who put his heart and soul into the lodge along with their father. Right? Well, that may be what they thought, but Josh wasn't really investing heart and soul into the lodge. He was looking for a way out. But, life happens. Katie, on the other hand, is doing exactly what she's always wanted. She's running the business her father started; she's definitely been pouring her heart and soul into it ever since her father died. She can't think of anything else she'd rather do or anywhere else she'd rather be. Except maybe at Northern Star Lodge. With Josh. She's three years oder than Josh, but they've grown up together. She's always loved Josh. Ever since Josh's mom died and Katie's mom moved into the lodge to raise the boys and their sister, Liz. Katie was, and is, pretty much one of the "kids" and Josh certainly treats her just like one of the guys. And that's the problem. Katie isn't quite sure what to do. She doesn't want to jeopardize their friendship, but she sure wishes Josh would notice she's more than Josh's BFF. Like a typical guy, Josh is clueless. Then, Rosie, Katie's mom, gets sick and everything changes. Is Rosie doing a little behind the scenes plotting? Or is everything just happening of its own accord. Could be a little of both. One thing is for sure, Josh is about to figure out what everyone else figured out years ago. There are plenty of appearances of all the Kowalski brothers and you get to catch up on what's going on. The family is growing, that's for sure! Josh is a character that I really felt bad for. All of his siblings had ran off to live their own lives leaving him, the youngest child to run the family lodge and watch their dreams come true. All he wanted was to find out what life away from the lodge was like. Katie had been in love with Josh most of her life, so she had no problem becoming friends with benefits, except she wanted to move beyond the friends aspect. When the chance finally comes for Josh to leave its really a matter of not having regrets that decision's are made by.
