And at night, while she held her cell phone in her hand, she trembled with the need to tell him about her system. She knew her experience with Steven was the only thing holding her back. But she couldn’t change that. Every night, she texted him in the darkness, laughing and torturing herself with his words. At the end of each conversation, he said, “I love you.
