But For You (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

As I've said in my review for Bulletproof, this book and the last just seemed like a stepping stone for Aaron and his new love's story. However, this book also seemed like a giant epilogue for Jory and Sam's story. I liked how Mary Calmes integrated all the children into every part of the book and really expressed how people can change their mentality and priorities when they become parents. The feel of this book is very much different from all the previous books and it really seemed just like a sweet closure to their story. Well, that being said, I am very glad that at least in this book, in contrast to Bulletproof, the plot of the case was at least more exciting.I felt that this book tied things up pretty much okay and there's nothing much to be said for Jory and Sam's story. That's 13 years of their lives covered. That said, I don't know if I want to continue reading Aaron and Duncan's story since I'm one of those kind who don't like to read sequels if they feature friends of the main pairing. Yet somehow, I feel like I'm doing Aaron injustice if I don't. Sighs... This book is my absolute guilty pleasure. It's not even close to perfect but I still find myself re-reading it far too often to actually put down. Throughout the series, Jory has pretty much been a doormat to his adoptive brother, Dane, and his partner, Same. This continues on in this book, but there's some endearing quality in Mary Calmes' writing that makes it less off-putting than it should be. I don't know how else to put it. Or maybe I've just grown to ignore it.I absolutely love this book and I can't quite figure out why. Perhaps it's the dream-like nature of the book: Jory and everyone around him are gorgeous and pretty much perfect in their own way. Even the bad guy is ridiculously handsome – and smart. If you're looking for a dose of reality, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for a good time with lots of smiles, this will do just fine.

What do You think about But For You (2012)?

I LOVED this book. Jory and Sam as Daddies....perfect! This was the ending I wanted for them.
