Alice's Adventures In Wonderland And Through The Looking Glass (1901) - Plot & Excerpts

What a lovely pair of stories. Everyone knows of Alice in Wonderland because of the movies based off it but not many realize that those movies actually combine "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking-Glass." When you read this book, with the stories separated, you're able to appreciate Lewis Carroll's work on a new level. This book is a very delightful and surprisingly easy to read. It does seem to move quickly but you enjoy every second of it anyway. You're able to join Alice in her adventures and all the creatures she encounters makes your own imagination go wild. This book is a great escape from the real world. I would definitely recommend it to any and everyone I meet! Alice in Wonderland has always been a tale that intrigued me, even as a child. I loved Disney's animated movie and I still have it on video.I was searching for the right version for a great deal of time and I found it in a small vintage bookshop in Burnham market. A 1947 publication of Lewis Carrolls original two stories about Alice and her weird and wonderful adventures in wonderland. A small yellowed paperback with all the original illustrations. It is one of my most treasured possessions. It is such a great book and I really do wish it had been read to me as a child like the secret garden or the faraway tree were. Wonderland is such a strange yet fascinating place with many different occurrences and characters which I have yet to find a comparison for. Carroll wrote a unique book which is truly a classic and a story to be passed on for many years to come.

What do You think about Alice's Adventures In Wonderland And Through The Looking Glass (1901)?

It's not that I didn't enjoy the two stories, I was just disappointed. I love the fantasy setting of Wonderland and the Checkerboard style world of Through the Looking Glass. However, it sometimes got boring. Like at points I couldn't put it down and at other parts I was tempted to skip over it.Then there's the ending to both of them. I won't spoil it, but I'll just say in was disappointed. However the enjoyability of the settings and characters gave this children's classic a 3/5.

I know the Wonderland of Alice, but I have never heard the Through the Looking-Glass. Alice enter into the world of the mirror. She experienced a lot of dangerous experiences. I think that it is difficult for me to understand because a lot of scenes change.
