Alcatraz Versus The Scrivener's Bones (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

This is the second Alcatraz book. I liked it even better than the first. Alcatraz has to continue to fight the evil librarians who have manipulated all information to their advantage. This time he encounters them on a ship made of glass (shaped like a dragon) and later inside the underground Library of Alexandria. Brandon Sanderson is a hilarious writer. The book is quick and exciting, full of crazy interruptions by the author (Alcatraz himself) and other funny literary devices. And Alcatraz does manage to learn a lot about expectations, leadership, and himself. A great read. Undead evil librarians who stalk the main character muttering, "Check out a book ... it will only cost your soul." Enough said. Sanderson delivers another "factual" book in the Alcatraz series, filled with even more asides to the reader about why authors are really terrible people & how skipping to the back of the book is one of the most "putrid and unholy things any reader can do". Plus you get another round of adventures with Alcatraz, Bastille, and assorted Smedrys. What more could any reader ask for? Can't wait to visit my local library (run by those evil LIE-brarians) for the next book!
