Wilson Mooney: Almost Eighteen (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Almost Eighteen by Gretchen de la O was dedicated to "all the women who want to remember what it felt like when their butterflies fluttered south for the first time." Unfortunately, I could not relate to this book. The I felt like the book started in the middle of relationship between Max and Wilson. The book started with pretty much being in love already. I felt like the book started with butterflies already in place. I wanted to be there for when they first met. I wanted to read about when the butterflies emerged in their tummies. The book was well written with a great story line and characters. However, I felt like there needed to be more of a emphasis on when they met, and when they began to have feelings for each other. It seemed like that entire part was skipped, and then Bam! They were alone outside of school, and they were jumping off the deep end already. As I stated earlier, it's a good book; it's just not the book for me. It was somewhere in the middle for me. She constantly says that she isnt somebody who bitching about her past. But somehow she still does that. This is going to sound weird, sorry: Ususally the author the writer leads you down a road. But this book is like we always looking to the sides or back, not to the road. I had this feeling, I cant explain better, this book was a little information packed at first. I ve read in a review, and I cant agree more, that there was no love rather LUST as an L word.Just dont know. Lukewarm three stars.

Great book! I love Wilson and Max. Secret love is always fun. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Just okay for me. There was no sex in the entire book. Too young for me I think.
