Two Weeks' Notice (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

I honestly didn't know how to rate it. So... 3,5, perhaps. being a HUGE fan of Morganville Vampires series, I expected something similar in tome and humor and... I don't really know how to explain it, but MORE. Still, I'm really enjoying this series, and I especially appreciate the fact that it's not your traditional living dead plot. THANK GOD NO ONE CALLS THEM ZOMBIES! Because they are not. So anyway, it's nothing special but it works nice as a light read during my daily commute and I love the characters. Can't wait to pick up the third one! Wow, this book takes so many twists and turns! Okay, so the book picks up right where Working Stiff left off. With Bryn trying to make sense of her life as a formerly-dead person running the funeral home where she was murdered on her first day at work. Two Weeks' Notice follows Bryn, McCallister and Joe as they work at finding out why the Returnee 'addicted' members of society are suddenly going missing, with evidence linking to the FBI - Bryn's only source of Returnee to keep her functioning - which means Bryn is in trouble if the FBI have decided to kill all of the revived. As far as sequels go, I think this book did a pretty good job. It does get more action-packed towards the middle of the book, with a plot twist appearing towards the end, which leaves the reader anticipating what will happen next in the Revivalist series. Overall, I would give this book 3 stars because, although this book is enjoyable, I have found that on reflection, you realise that a lot of the action within the book was dragged on a bit to make it last more pages in order to complete the book. However, it's worth reading if you enjoyed the first book and wish to carry on with the Revivalist series.
