Tipsy (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Super great 5++ stars! : ) Blue & Julie's story is a great recovery read, the kind of story I love to come back to again & again. It's dual POV, so we know what's going on w/ each character every step of the way. There are issues keeping them apart, but those issues are well-done & not at all what I would call "angsty." Their relationship is unconventional a bit, but they're both very present in it. (That may make more sense once you read it! LOL) And, there is action! And there is fun! And there are a few moments that made me *snortgiggle* which always makes for a great book in my mind. The pacing was great, dialogue was great, and I absolutely loved the epilogue! Keeper shelf, reread, all around happy Carrie! My Review4.8 Star Review – Tipsy (Take It Off #5)I recommend this book.I enjoyed this book by Cambria. This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, undercover, and a fight or two.Cambria takes you on a suspense filled ride undercover to catch a killer and gets drugs off the streets. Can you feel tipsy about a guy? You sure can as Julie finds out!! Julie and Blue go on one date and he never calls her. What she does not know is that he went on an undercover mission. When he shows up at her job to get a hair cut he knows she is still mad at him. He still wants her so he asks her on another date. When she gets stood up by him she is pissed. WTH is he pulling? She decides to go out with her friends. When she comes across him at the club they go to is she about to blow his cover? You can feel the push & pull between Blue and Julie throughout the story. They are drawn to each other but at the same time trying to stay away from each other in order to keep them both safe. If the bad guys Blue is trying to take down go after Julie he is going to lose everything he never knew he wanted. Some of my favorite quotesThank goodness I lived alone. There was no way in hell any man could go up against the morning sunshine I projectedWhy is it that police officers always picked on the innocent people who rarely ever speed, yet they never pull over the people who are complete assholes on the road all the time?"He was incredibly close. "I'm going to let you off with a warning this time." I made a sound that might have come across as an agreement. He grinned. "On one condition." I scowled. "I read an artile about this once. Officers of the law letting people go in exchange for ... favors." He chuckled. "Is that so?" I crossed my arms over my chest. "I'm not that kind of a girl, Officer Shady." He lifted an eyebrow and I felt my cheeks heat. That's good, Julie. Insult a cop. "Are you the kind of girl who would go on a date with a shady officer?"Just being in this place to get a hair cut was a danger to my man card. The guys at the station would have a field day if they could see me now. I was wearing purple sweatpants. Oversized purple sweatpants. My butt probably looked like a swollen raisin.Check out the swollen ass on that chick, said NO man ever.
