The Price Of Secrecy (2015) - Plot & Excerpts

This review was originally posted on Cocktails and BooksI've been so antsy for this book. The third installment of the "Weathermen" series, "The Price of Secrecy", is a delightful addition. I already love the series. The concept is amazing, and they're so interesting. It's obvious that Ravenna Tate has researched the science behind the stories meticulously. It's timely and actually a bit frightening. I'm not giving anything away in saying that it takes place in the year 2124, and 85% of the world is completely uninhabitable. A computer program called "The Madeline Project" was put into use to try and reduce the chances of weather catastrophies like tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes. All was well until a group of hackers worked their way into the program and caused it to spriral out of control. Most of the remaining population move into underground cities that had actually been built during a nuclear war scare. The beauty (if you can call it that) of this plot is it's entire feasible. Technology, while having a purpose to serve, can turn on a dime and cause more harm than good. Enter a group of wealthy businessmen who are working together to try to find the hackers responsible for this mess and also reverse the effects of their destruction. They call themselves "The Weathermen". This book is about Dominic Greco, the CEO of Greco Communications. He's handsome, powerful, and has a secret. Then comes Angela Davidson. She's come to work for Dominic in his new IT department. She's good at what she does (getting around firewalls), and she feels an instant attraction to her new boss that is not one sided. Angela has a secret of her own, and it's a big one. This is a fast paced story. It grabbed me by the throat at 2%, and it didn't let go until I read "The End". I loved Dominic and Angela. They had incrdible chemistry that was actually palpable. I could feel it in my heart and head. They fall for each other quickly, but it doesn't feel like that's a problem, in fact, I found it to be entirely believable. Sometimes, the heart wants what it wants, no matter how long you've known someone. They have AMAZING sex! There is some BDSM involved...a two paddles, a flogger, a bamboo cane, and...hehe...a feather duster (to give her butt a bit of a break). It's not hardcore. It's just enough to keep their bedroom antics interesting. When we finally begin to discover what Dominic and Angela are holding back from each other, a whole new layer is added. "The Price of Secrecy" becomes WAY more than an erotic romance novel. It's now a mystery/action/crime story, and it's so well written. It's all thoroughly fleshed out and doesn't leave you with a feeling that it was all just thrown in there to make the book longer. As I mentioned, this is the third in the "Weathermen" series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Ms. Tate is always good at giving enough background information, and you won't be lost. However, I really do recommend that you start at the beginning with "An Appetite for Blackmail" and "Obsession by Design". They're both great stories in their own right. The men are captivating. The women are smart and strong, and the ride is completely worth it. Definitely get this one. Reviewer information can be found under the Tags section of the post on our site.

This is the 3rd installment in the Weatherman series and once again I found myself unable to put the books down. The characters are great and story-line gets better and better as the series progresses. This installment brought us the story of Dominic and Angela two people who fall instantly for each other but are hiding a dark past from one another. Dealing with the lies is only the tip of the iceberg for these two.Dominic is your typical Alpha and he knows what he wants even if he should stay way he can't; Angela has taken a hold of him and now he can't let go. Angela is smart woman who has been placed in a bad situation through not fault of her own.I enjoyed this book very much and I find myself falling in love with the weathermen... wouldn't it be great if they existed? I know I would love it... My only issues with this book was the lack of progress with their project and how it was set aside to deal with Dominic's and Angela's issues. While I know that author has an end point to the story I didn't see it progress much from where we left it in book 2.I give this book 4 diamonds and can't wait for Viggo to fall like the rest of them...
