The Guest List (2002) - Plot & Excerpts

This book is a large book, but very well plotted out. It involves two families that are neighbors. , and the men close friends, almost like brothers. The ladies of this book are not good people. The way they treat those around them is shameful. The death of one set of friends, has the other set adopting the two girls left without their parents. Mallory, who was clearly over spoiled and. hard to handle is the oldest, and sent away to what is described to friend as a private school, but is really an institution. Abby the other sister, deals with a birth mark that covers half her face. People in their lives seem to keep dying of heart related symptoms. The readers ride that coaster ride of emotion through out the book, until the end. I loved Abby. She was easy to love and stand behind. Mallory, is grown when she returns, and you begin to see all her problems, are due to insecurity. There is,also a little brother, who wins your heart. l was not surprised at the person who was killing people. The ending is worth the read. I have read many of Fern Michaels books, and this was very good.

What do You think about The Guest List (2002)?

Wow! What an amazing ride this book was, indeed. I enjoy a good mystery and this certainly was one. The story begins at the birth of a daughter to a couple who die just five years later, leaving behind Abby, who has a port wine stain birth mark, and older sister Mallory, who is a perfect, beautiful princess. They are then adopted by the father's best friend and his new wife and we follow them for years until they are adults. After quite a few suspicious deaths, Mallory and Abby wonder if their parents were murdered? We also get to meet quite a few interesting characters, including Steve Carpenter, a veterinarian who tries to rescue as many abandoned animals as he can? Will they be able to solve this mystery? It's worth reading, folks.
