The Breeders (The Breeders Series (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
SO GOOD! I am so glad I picked this book up! The author pulled me in from the get and just kept me engrossed with the creepy characters, down right scary foes & horrific way of life. The characters are awesome, Riley has many obstacles being a "girl" in this new world and her family trying to protect her. Then she's faced with having to venture out....where she meets Clay...many plot twists and action packed! I immediately picked up the sequel to see what happens with Riley and Clay and family/foes! Good but could've been better. I kind of trudged along this book. I wish some things had been explained in greater detail, such as what *exactly* a bender was, and it would've been nice to have a greater back story to Riley's family. At the end of the day, however, I enjoyed the book, it had enough drama to keep me interested, and it was a chilling concept. I've already bought the Novella and the 2nd book in the series, so I do recommend the book, but there's a few you might want to read 1st.

This was a great book!!!! There were some parts that were overly wordy. I loved Clay.
