Sex On The Moon: The Amazing Story Behind The Most Audacious Heist In History (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

OK so I read this book because I'm a space nerd and the story sounded interesting. The title and the intro should've been a tip-off. The intro talks about the story being a dramatized account. But God is it a badly written book. So much random unrelated sexual innuendo. And so much random dramatization. The story itself is interesting but probably could be been told in a quarter of the pages without all the stupid sexual or dramatic descriptions of things. This was quite an adventurous tale but the whole time I was listening to it I couldn't help think "how could the author possibly have so many details about this guy and the crime he committed." I proceeded with the book thinking it had to be part fiction/part truth. It was quite a compelling story. Directly after finishing the book I searched on the internet and found out the author is the same guy that wrote the books that were turned into the movies "21" and "The Social Network." Seems as though this is his niche - finding real life stories of super smart, young guys that do stupid things out of greed. He actually interviewed the main character extensively but still not sure how much was made up in Thad Roberts' mind and how much actually really happened. Regardless, it was a good story. Just like I judge a movie by the simple question "does it keep my interest?" this book definitely kept my interest.By the way, Sony/Columbia has bought the rights to make a movie but the production hasn't started yet.

What do You think about Sex On The Moon: The Amazing Story Behind The Most Audacious Heist In History (2011)?

Riveting and breathlessly paced story of a charismatic man's audacious plot to steal moon rocks.
