Seven Days Of Friday (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

The character of Vivi was engaging as was her daughter. It was a light read, funny in spots, somewhat predictable. Vivi's husband leaves her and her daughter for another man. Vivi decides to go back to the roots of her parents, Greece. Her daughter, Melissa is a troubled teenager experiencing more than her share of growing pains. Greece is a great setting for a story, when you live in Canada and are caught up in the cold of winter! More than a few skeletons in this family's closet! The ending was rushed, events were explained that did not really need to be. A good book with a story line that held my attention. I am constantly drawn in by books that have chapters told from the different character's perspectives and feel that this author did a pretty good job at it (although still feel that Barbara Kingsolver did it best in The Poisonwood Bible). There are some moments of amazing humor in this book that took me by surprise and I got a couple of strange looks from my boyfriend from randomly laughing out loud. Not sure I will be seeking out other books in this series to purchase, but if I happen to come across them for free or at the library I would pick them up for an entertaining and comical read.
