Real Men Last All Night (Lexi Steele, #1.5) (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

I was really disappointed in this book. The advertisement promises steamy stories, but it doesn't promise stories that make sense or even seem possible. Which is a good thing because the only story seriously worth reading is the Lori Foster one. The other three are stupid at best and only get worse from there. I would rank the stories with #1 being the best and #4 being the absolute worst like this: 1. Lori Foster, 2. Lora Leigh, 3. Heidi Betts, 4. Cheyenne McCray. Seriously, DO NOT waste your time reading the Cheyenne McCray story. I couldn't tell if the author was just smoking something when she wrote this story or if her female lead had split personality disorder. One minute she's a sex-crazed whore begging the main guy to have sex with her in the restaurant's restroom and the next minute she is virginally pure. I would only ever read the Lori Foster story again, it separately gets 4 stars. It is such a shame that it had to be lumped in with these crappers. Fun, hot pursuits of great steamy scenes... of the not so typical romatical expectations!"Cooper's Fall" by Lora Leigh - uhm, HAWT! Loved the way she brings Coop and Sara together in a round-about way. Her hidden past is dynamic and dark, the conclusion almost like taking a shower after a romp in the mud puddles. Always a joy to read Lora Leigh!"Luring Lucy" by Lori Fost - threw me completely off the tracks! I read a bit and then had to set it down for a few hours to chew on the new direction. In a nutshell, I can only hope that by 40 I am doing as well! But, alas... this story left me sort of "hanging in the wind" and flagged my hope for the remainder of this tome."The Edge of Sin" by Cheyenne McCray - Well, these two went for broke from jump! HAHAHAHA!!! LOVE IT! I will be tracking down Lexi's series shortly to see where this bright and resilient woman goes from here! And, Zane? oh yummm!!! And soo back on track!Wanted: A Real Man by Heidi Betts - okay... what a way to finish off a collective anthology! Where at first I wanted to slap the perfectly coifed Claire and empathize with the Deputy Marshal Linc, when these two come back together I can feel the magic! And I am wanting more... almost as if this story is too short. The plot was sadly anti-climactic but I did enjoy the stamina and the determination that defines Mr. Deputy Marshal Linc Rappaport...

I picked this up because Lori Foster has a story here and honestly considered reading only hers, but am glad that I went ahead and read all four. Each one was a nice story. I'm not usually a fan of short stories as I feel they lack the time for complete character development. These stories were all short, but not lacking. I wish each would have been made into a full length book so there would be more time for character development, etc, but I wasn't disappointed.
