Ready To Fall (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

This book is entirely from the hero's point-of-view, and I wasn't sure how I'd feel about that.It didn't take long for me to stop thinking about it and just start enjoying the story. This is the second book series that I've read in the last little while set on Whidbey Island, and MAN, I'm hooked. (The first was Shelli Stevens' McLaughlin series - different but equally good). I can't wait to read the rest of these books. Daisy Prescott has a way of writing about the Pacific Northwest that makes you slow down, breath in the salty pine air, and fall in love with a lumberjack. Great! Male POV which was fun and refreshing.I did not read #1 and I enjoyed this.John's a tall, bearded man who sounded pretty yummy. He works in the timber industry, managing lumberjacks. Heck, is dog is named Babe and he chops wood to distribute to his neighbors in need. Sigh.Diane's a temporary new neighbor who's getting through a divorce.I loved the pace of their relationship, with typical presumptions and lack of communication. While this followed the typical romance formula, what made this above average was the male POV and John's character... and the banter between John and Diane. I might consider the others in the series after reading this.
