Raphael/Parish (Bayou Heat) (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

First off, let me say, I liked these stories. They were well written, the characters were great, and even though they are short stories, you get a feel for the world these Pumas live in.You get two short stories in one book. The Pantera, puma shifters living in a Louisiana Bayou, are slowly dyeing out. Their females are unable to carry their young to term, and experiments with willing human females were even less successful. So when Raphael's one night stand with Ashe results in an unexpected pregnancy, no one is sure what to believe. But first he needs to convince Ashe that he is real and convince her to stay with him and have his child. A child that should not exist, a true miracle. And hope for their entire species.Unfortunately, someone outside of their homelands, sees this child as a threat, and wants to do away with both the child and the mother.Parish is a Hunter. One of the most feared of his race. He is given the task of finding a human female doctor to deal with the pregnancy and birth of his friends child. What he finds stuns him. He, who hates humans with a passion, is drawn to the scent and looks of a human doctor, Julia. Who, in typical Parish fashion, grabs her, and takes her back to their homeland, the Wildlands. When Julia regains conscienceness, she's sure she's been drugged. Magic lands, cat shifters, human/puma hybrids? Yeah they've given her some good drugs. But she cant seem to stop thinking about the man who brought her here, and how she reacts in his presences. These are very short stories. I would not recommend them as stand alone books. They are more like chapters of one bigger book. There are no real conclusions. My one complaint is, I wanted more. I presume you know what the series is about, I'm letting you know what I liked or disliked about it.This is a very nice series, fairly short books with a story line that became more and more solid. These two authors write well together. Laura Wright was a new author to me and now a favorite :) oh, yes indeed.A side note - I bought these books as an "all-in-one" set after I purchased the first one. Dumb on my part. You'll like the books enough to enjoy reading the series. Save yourself some book money and just buy the set ;)Oh!!!! And maybe?! there's more to be written?!!! this kills me. The books ended on a note that told us really only half a story.MUST HAVE MORE!!!! So look here Mr. or Ms. Publisher persons, create the deal that keeps these authors writing!!! Thank you.

What do You think about Raphael/Parish (Bayou Heat) (2013)?

This series is a fun new read. I am a fan of Alexander Ivy, so anything she pens I eagerly read. I was not disappointed. While I am not familiar with Laura Wright's novels, she now has a new fan. Because these books are set-up with following the relationship of 2 couples per book, the story/action takes second place to the romance. In addition, the main story line is further spread-out with each book; each book ending with a cliff hanger. Therefore, I find that patience is in order for this series. However, if you like steamy romance and don't mind a slower developing story, these are the books for you.

Raphael 3.5*Alexandra IvyI enjoyed this story of Rafael and Ashe. It was a good beginning to this paranormal romance series about a bewitched part of the Bayou that created a legendary group of shifters. Parish 4*Laura WrightParish and Julia were great characters and my only wish was that we could of had more time with them before the end. Which by the way was a really mean way to end this book. What a cliffhanger! Now I have to start the next book right away. I really needed to read something different. I'm on a schedule. I highly recommend this book for any paranormal romance lover.

Short, but enjoyable. Love how the story is unfolding.

A bit rushed in the telling but intriguing.
