This book is freaking amazing. I have been a huge fan of Delilah for a litle over a year now, and I have never been disappointed. Prelude To A Scandal is another smashing success. Lady Justine with her quirky family (especially her father) has such determination and courage to go thru with her plans. And Bradford with his smoldering looks, and the steamy sexual tension between them, it all sucked me right in. The little red book of How to Avoid a Scandal throws in just enough restrictions in how Lady Justine goes about catching Bradford to keep you guessing and laughing. And you cant forget the titilating sex that has you squirming while you read. This is a book that once picked up cannot be put down. I guess I'll make it a B-, but I have mixed feelings. It's close to a C+, too. Overall, I liked it, and I'll read the next one. But it was a bit inconsistent. I loved the different premise, the backstory of the heroine. The different conflicts, which are totally different than anything I've seen before in historical romance. But just when I'm really liking it and looking forward to what comes next, something ridiculous happens or either Radcliffe or Justine act especially silly. That happens not once, but rather about four times.Still, as I say, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed Radcliffe and Justine and laughed several times and sometimes cheered. I'm actually very curious to see how she deals with Radcliffe's brother (I'm assuming her next book is about Carlton).I've come back to edit as I discovered neither of the other books in the series is about his brother. The man is a woman beater, which would have been a probably insurmountable challenge. Still, I think I will try another in the series, probably the third one.
