Perfect Fling (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

Reviewed by JoAnneBook provided by the publisher for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookSerendipity is the town we were introduced to last summer by Carly Phillips and she does the town proud when she set the Serendipity’s Finest trilogy there too. This trilogy delves deeper into the Marsden family and is book two and middle child Erin’s story along with Cole’s. This book is just as hot and steamy as all the others and was also a quick read. I kept turning the page because I needed to see what would happen next there were so many subplots. I loved the countdown of Erin’s missteps with Cole. Erin and Cole shouldn’t have had any chemistry due to their differences but that’s what made their pairing so great. They not only connected between the sheets but also when having a conversation or even across the room from one another. Erin helped ground Cole and didn’t shrink from him and Cole showed Erin another side of himself that no one had ever seen before. Of course neither could believe that the other could feel the same and each were ready to walk a fewWe were reunited with characters from last year’s books and it was nice to see them with a storyline not just there. There were families, friends, laughter, tears, situations, happiness, makeups and reconciliations along with several happily ever afters that I didn’t quite envision the way they happened. There was nice closure and I loved the epilogue and the town.We were also given a taste of the next book due out in February and I can’t wait to read Sam’s story. I look forward to revisiting and hope there will be many more books in the series!Favorite Quote: …She’s mine, he thought, tightening his arms around her. Mine to protect, he amended, knowing the distinction was of the utmost importance in keeping both her safe and giving him the distance he needed to do his job and not hurt her when he left on his next case. well, 4 stars because I'm a goner for pregnancy stories.Erin is pregnant after a night of sex with no strings and Cole wants no commitment but he's ready to step up for the child.Another man with commitment issues, what a bore! I didn't like so much and Erin was a sort of saint to put up with him! I can relate with his problems with his father, because his father was bad, but just because you have a bad parent, it doesn't mean you cannot be a better person!Cole was mulish and unreasonable and I didn't like him very much! ;)

What do You think about Perfect Fling (2000)?

Its quite cliche, I started skipping paragraphs at chapter 2.
