Nothin' But Trouble (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Like the others this book was okay maybe the least favorite out of all the books in the series. I think I've read this series to much and to fast as they have all blended into one big book. However I did like Lilly's attitude some what of the time. There was a quote when she was discribing someone that I highlighted in my kobo. I also liked at the end there was mention of the other characters from prior books and wished the author would do that more. On to next. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Jenika Snow’s Grizzly MC series has become similar to my favorite comfy blanket. I know that each book is going to leave me contented and relaxed, it will keep me warm, and when curled up in its comforting embrace, I will have found my happy place. The newest addition is Nothin’ But Trouble and it just cements my warm and fuzzy feelings about this series. This time we learn about Court Devlin and Lily Winters. Lily has had a crush on Court for forever, except he is her older brother’s best friend and never looked at her as anything more than a kid. But when Lily turns 18, she comes on to a drunken Court and loses her virginity to him in the back of Court’s truck. Court walks away from her and never looks back, even pulling away from Lily’s brother Roan. But when Lily is attacked one night, Court realizes just how much she means to him and they embark on a relationship.Nothin’ But Trouble is a bit sweeter than the other books in the series. I believe that has to do with the characters. Court is supposed to be this typical bad boy, motorcycle gang, bear shifter. But with one understandable exception, we only get to see his sweet side. He has loved Lily for a long time, but has stayed away from her out of respect for their age difference, her innocence, and his friendship with Roan. Lily is also a sweet, innocent character though she is not naïve to the realities of the harshness of the Grizzly MC’s. There is also not a lot of drama in this book which also helps keep it on the sweeter side. Though a dramatic attack on Lily is the catalyst that brings our hero and heroine together, their relationship remains free of the typical romance novel conflict that the couple has to overcome. Instead, Court and Lily talk through their concerns and the reasons that Court walked away all those years ago. As a result, this made their relationship very believable and seemed to strengthen their connection. The only thing missing from this story is just more of it. I so enjoyed reading about Court and Lily that I didn’t want the book to end. Running at a little over 100 pages, it was a quick read. Luckily, Ms. Snow has other books planned for the series because I’m not yet prepared to let go of these Grizzly MC’s.
