Mortal Seductions (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

Note: you won't read a review about the book or the story because I wrote only my experience reading this one. :)I'm not really into paranormal. And erotica. But, one of my (bad/good?) habit when I picked up a book, or when I put it into my TBR pile, sometimes I just don't read the synopsis, or finding out the genre. Why? Because I'm a sucker for cover design. And for Paul Marron. So only because it has Paul on its cover, I picked this book. Without really knowing that this one's erotica. I did read some erotica books. But there are some topic/theme I usually try to avoid. Like threesome. Or F/F. Or M/M. So, when I read this book and things got a little out of my taste, I was like... Hmmm, okay, I knew it's paranormal. I don't mind. But... Then slowly I closed the book, looking at the back cover. Tadaaa... It's erotica. Ah, no wonder. I opened the book again and continued reading. And it turned out to be waaaay out of my taste. But still, I kept on reading it because this would be my very first book about M/M thing. Although Leon kept saying that he's not gay. He's kinda cute. :D Anyway, I wanted to know why some of my friends love reading it, the M/M or gay romance. I guess I kinda grab the idea. While I enjoyed reading Leon and Dimitri's, I didn't like Valenarian, at all. Do you think it'd be probably better if she's out of the picture? Hahahaha...I was torn between giving this book 2 or 3. I didn't really enjoy it. But that's totally subjective because, well, I didn't like Valenarian, I didn't comfortable enough with the relationships between the characters... I do believe some people would enjoy this very much. It's just a matter of different taste. :)I liked Jennifer Ashley's Mackenzie series waaaaaay better. As a matter of fact, The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie was the only book I'd give like 10 stars until now! *drooling over Ian Mackenzie+++I loved the cover of this book. And I liked Leon. Great read. Two delightful heroes [Demitri the demi-god and Leon the Cajun shifter:] and a heroine [Val:] with a built in 'evil twin'. The characters are great, the plot has lots of action and the setting is beautifully detailed. As far as sex scenes go, there is something for everyone [M/M and M/F/M and M/F:]. 3000 years ago, vengeance demon Val got a taste for blood. Demitri was sent by Aphrodite to seduce and capture her; instead he fell in love with her. Unhappily recognizing how dangerous she was, he gave her to Aphrodite in hopes the demon could be destroyed. It didn't work and she is to be destroyed. Demetri still loves her and Leon has fallen for her as well. They have two weeks to help her save herself - or all three will bear the consequences [and with the Greek pantheon, that could mean a very long and lingering death indeed.:]Demitri was first introduced in Mortal Temptations and other than occasional mentions of his friends [Nico and Andreas:] getting married there is little overlap - which is a long way of saying the order doesn't seem to matter much in this series [at least so far!:]Mortal series:Mortal TemptationsMortal Seductions
