Monster Blood III (2007) - Plot & Excerpts

Andy stood beside Kermit. Evan saw the blue container of Monster Blood in her hand. Just seeing the can made Evan shiver. So many bad memories. So many nightmares. The green gunk inside the can was so dangerous.Ugh, this book was terrible. What did I expect? Monster Blood is one of Stine's weakest Goosebumps subsets. Andy and Evan are back! Evan is still getting the shit beat out of him. Andy and Evan are still exchanging barbs and are very close friends. Their friendship is one of the only things I like in this subset.R.L. Stine creates another horrendous brat, reminiscent of Tara from The Cuckoo Clock of Doom. This time it's Kermit - an 8-year-old brat who's obsessed with chemistry and making potions. He's such a jerk - he lies to his parents while blaming Evan, he gets Evan beat up on purpose, he tricks Andy and Evan into drinking potions that mess them up, and he deliberately messes up Andy's homework when she asks him to help her.In short, he's a total asshole.I know this is a kid's book, but I can't understand how these little brats don't get the snot smacked out of them. Where I grew up, you couldn't be this kind of jerk without getting put in your place (Kermit is small and tiny - not some bulked up bully with back up). He takes deliberate cruel delight in fucking up everyone's lives, for no apparent reason. Also, Stine's grownups are always seriously out of it. I know that this is because these are kid-centered books, but really - they're idiots. The grownups in this book worship Kevin and call him genius and never listen to the other kids when they try to tell the adults that Kermit is a total shit. This is unrealistic to the point of stupidity. The plot of this book is pretty dumb, too. Even though Evan and Andy have quite a bad history with Monster Blood - Evan still has nightmares about it - they never lose their willingness to bust out a can when things get rough... or boring. This is mainly Andy's doing - she thinks Monster Blood is fun and she is more of a risk-taker than Evan. But Evan always fights her for a while, then ends up giving in. The results are always disastrous. In this book, they use Monster Blood to try and get well-deserved revenge on Kermit. But it backfires when Evan accidentally swallows some and starts growing at an exponential rate.Don't panic! he instructed himself. The first rule is - don't panic. But why shouldn't he panic?LOL I can see someone's been reading his copy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! This just degenerates into him getting revenge on the local bully, playing baseball, and getting kites out of trees. LAME!By the way, the ending is terrible and stupid.P.S. The dog is named "Dogface"! What a great name for a dog, LOL.

Monster Blood is one of the central Goosebumps mythos, which is unfortunate because I hate these stories. Monster Blood 1 was incoherent, Monster Blood 2 was implausible beyond even the normally large levels of suspension of disbelief one must apply when reading these books, and Monster Blood 3 makes me twitch at how unlikeable and stupid the characters are. Evan is babysitting his younger cousin Kermit, who not only has a dreadful name, but is completing with the little sister from Cuckoo Clock of Doom for worst tiny sociopath ever. Kermit likes to mix up chemical concoctions in his basement and test them on his cousin or dog. When things inevitably go wrong, he blamed everything on Evan who is seemingly incapable of telling adults what really happened. (Also, the kid tests chemicals on people UNKNOWINGLY. This child has serious issues). Evan and Andy decide to get back at Kermit by using, what else, Monster Blood! Because that worked so well in the first two books.Unsurprisingly, the monster blood prank results in disaster when Evan accidentally eats some and grows super huge. But hey, Kermit will just make up some new chemical potions to shrink him! I hated this story because Evan and Andy just can't seem to get it through their heads that they shouldn't touch the weird evil goo anymore, even though they both have nightmares about what it's done in their lives. Also, Kermit, despite being a loathsome child, is never actually in trouble for the extremely inappropriate things he does. Tara is erased from time, but Kermit just gets to keep on being terrible? Well, Evan and Andy never learn anything so I guess that's fitting with this story line... Long review short, the characters in Monster Blood 3 are irritating, the action is bizarre and doesn't make sense, and the suspense that was present in the first story has been watered down substantially. I have one more of these to go? Delightful...

What do You think about Monster Blood III (2007)?

Evan and Andy are back again with the Monster Blood. This time, they wanna use it as revenge against Evan's cousin, .... Kermit. Poor kid! What a horrible name! Anyway, Kermit is a Science and Math geek and he's eight years old. He enjoys coming up with schemes to make it look like Evan, his babysitter, is being mean to him. His mother buys it all the time. The revenge plot doesn't quite work out as planned. Andy decides to sip some of the monster blood into one of Kermits' experiments and instead of frightening him, Kermit thinks it's awesome. Even when it explodes and and Evan is turned into a Giant. Roughly two stories high and has to get out of his aunts house before he gets to said height. After Evan stops growing, there's a random baseball game that doesn't last long because the law starts to get involved when one of Evan's bullies convinces the law that he's dangerous. I feel like going back and changing my rating for the first monster blood book to 3 stars because the first one was better than this one. So far the second one was the best. 2 out of 5 stars.

Another Monster Blood sequel. Great! I just don't like these. Despite how dangerous it is, Monster Blood just doesn't scare me. It's silly putty. The stories are basically more about bullying than anything else. This one is a little more fun. Evan's cousin Kermit is an even better villain than the Monster Blood. All of his crazy experiments and inventions are pretty funny. A story based on this would be much better than another story where Evan and Andy stupidly use Monster Blood. Luckily, this is the best of the bunch so far. Not because of the Monster Blood, because of Kermit. He is accidentally a great villain. 1. One Day at Horrorland2. Night of the Living Dummy3. Monster Blood III is a about a boy named Evan and his weird cousin Kermet. Kermet is not into exercising or sports, all he does is run tests and stays in his basement Evan always babysittshim. Every time he babysitt's, Kermet has something up his sleeve, he's always playing jokes on Evan and Evan gets blamed for every single one of them. Evan has had enough, he's going to play a trick on Kermet and it's not pretty it includes something dangerous, slimey and green... monster blood!! The reason I liked this book becuase it's very mysterious and fun to read. I also think that it is more for younger kids, but if u don't wanat to read a long book you should read one of the goosebumps books. The plot in this book is very easy to follow because it is intreasting and easy. I give this book: 3 stars!!
