3 short starsSo I'm having a hard time rating this one. I liked it, kinda, I don't know. I feel like Finch got the shit end of the stick. Seriously. I mean technically he had Con 1st right? And I get he was a prick. But he was someone's son, and brother and nephew. And come on, to get killed for trying to piss off your brother, and, I dont know, it was just too much for me. But I guess murder is too much. Also, I didnt feel the greatest connection btwn Finn and Con. I felt Finn, yes I did. But then again I have to wonder, did I?You find out your brother is murdered and 2 days later you are at a cozy B&B....I dont knowthat is allMare~Slitsread I love a lot of Lanyon's books, but this one was kind of a disappointment. I enjoyed reading the scenes with Finn and Con and I absolutely loved when Con called Finn "sugar." It was so sweet (no pun intended) and it seemed so out of character for Con and maybe that's why it worked. I didn't understand why Paul was even in this book. He was a distraction...and not in good way. I guess there had to be someone to drive Finn around and bounce his ideas off of, but Paul contributed nothing to the story. He just got in the way of Finn and Con. Once the mystery was solved, I still had questions, mainly why Uncle Thomas and Martha were so strange-acting throughout the book. I know they're small-town folks, but I felt like there were unresolved issues with those two.
