Love Like You've Never Been Hurt (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

☆☆The whole falling on top of each other got me hooked but the story itself stopped improving when all the friends regrouped in their old hometown. It had a strong beginning but Emma's personal problem got in the way too much. Every time the H asked the h whether it was okay to you know *wink wink, i had to listen to her battle between the good and bad reasons before making a decision. The whole falling for you thing was too fast and too underdeveloped. He was a sexy, wealthy, and smart playboy but the author never touched upon how the h could possibly be the H's ItGirl. It was all about the kissing, banging, and food. Pretty much cliché-ness began to set in by the 30% mark of the book. By 70% it was ily. By 80%, "marriage biased"& they lived HEA. The end. One thing that annoyed me so much was the guy calling the h "Baby". 'Baby look at this" 'Baby what do you think' gee baby should only be used once in a while only. I was beginning to forget her name along with her nickname. Too many characters to keep up with.Another odd thing is all the male characters had one syllable names: Pete, Ben, Joe, Dan, Scott, Chase, Jack, GRAMPS. Female characters had 2 syllables: Emma, Holly, Missy, Martha, Laura, and Judy. Emma went through a bad divorce with a cheating husband and doesn't trust men.Jack is kind of a play boy.....that is until he runs into his business partners best friend Emma. Little do they know they will both be up at the lake at the same time over the summer. Emma, to just get away and spend time with her grandpa. Jack, to build a summer house for his business partner Peter. Can Emma learn to trust again? Can Jack love only one woman?Emma was a bit wishy washy. But going though a marriage with a cheating husband makes it a bit understandable. And all I can say about Jack is I love that man!I can't wait to finish the rest of series.
