Lord Gray's List (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

The book was funny and slightly unconventional. There was not much conflict to be resolved so the story did not have much depth. It however did hit a private peeve of mine- Nothing gives you the right to judge another person and believe you know how he should live his life in a better manner. It is extremely frustrating to deal with people who try to improve you and the heroine in this story was doing exactly that. It reminded me of how the paparazzi justify invading the private lives of celebrities by the justification that "the public deserve to know." Nothing gives them that right Evangeline and Ben were youthful sweethearts, but when she refused his proposal because she thought he would end up a wastrel like her father, he took up with a string of mistresses. It's 10 years later and he's fabulously rich, a devoted son but the gossip sheets, mainly the London List, reports only his naughty exploits,When he goes to confront the editor he discovers it is none other than his first love and she has been posing as a man to run her paper. Sparks fly as they can't restrain their passions for each other. He buys the paper and they end up working together as he reforms himself to win her heart.

What do You think about Lord Gray's List (2012)?

Some good, not much of it believable. Again a woman driven by hormones and lust for a past love.

Sultry. Funny. Good paced. Very enjoyable. Will have to try more of Maggie Robinson.
—Many

Pretends to be hustorical. Inauthentic language, situations, and behavior.

I thought it was terrible, my mother loved it...
