Kids Are Weird: And Other Observations From Parenthood (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

This is charming and funny, and, from my experience being a nanny and raising children, perfectly plausible. That said, it's not quite what you'd think given the title....there is just one kid, he says funny things, and it looks as though this was Brown's way of documenting the amusing things his son said. That makes it feel less funny and more of intimate, and I wish that were a good thing, but for this reader, it wasn't. Cute, but meh. This book is more a valentine to his son, remembering all the cute things his son has said, and I'm sure were hysterical to him and his wife. Unfortunately, the humor is very specific to his family and not universally funny to the public. I assume there will be another book out in a few years about his youngest child, and will also make him lots of money. I expected more since I love his Star Wars graphic novels. Very fast read, less than an hour.

What do You think about Kids Are Weird: And Other Observations From Parenthood (2014)?

Cute and funny but I didn't enjoy it quite as much as his Star Wars series. But still amusing.

Mildly entertaining, but not memorable. Received as a goodreads giveaway.

Not that funny and only mildly amusing. It's just ok.

OK but not as funny as the Star Wars books!
