Juvie Three, The (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

Juvenile detention and prison are the places for bad kids who make bad choices. Sometimes good kids make bad choices, accidents happen, pressure from family members, like brothers and cousins or uncles are too hard to resist. Mr. Douglas Healy was in that position once and he was able to break out and become a better person. He chooses Gecko, Arjay and Terrence for a new juvie halfway house project. Can he trust them to do the right thing? Is it smart to have faith in "bad" kids, labeled as thugs? I chose this book because I'm really into mystery type books so when I seen the title "The Juvie Three" it made me very curious to why the book was called that.Gecko, Terence and Arjay are given the opportunity to live in a halfway house with a man named Douglas Healy. In the halfway house they could be treated better. They would have to go to school and are to go straight home afterward. One day Terence decides that he wants to sneak out of the house and try to join a gang but of course Gecko and Arjay disagree so they try to stop him. They all end up fighting so Healy wakes up and tries to break them up but in the process bangs his head and loses his memory. The three know that even though its an accident they still can be sent to juvie and Healy could lose his halfway house. They come up with a plan to be the perfect little angels at school so no-one could find out. When Healy is due for his check-up they instantly try to get him out of the hospital but realize he was moved to a mental hospital. When Gecko, Terence, and Arjay bring him back home he gets his memory back and defends the three from the social worker who is not very fond of the halfway house. They are all given one more chance as long as they do community service. I would recommend this book to people who are into books about the law.My favorite Quote is: " I've been a socoal worker for twenty years, and absolutely nothing gets by me...." I like this quote because the social worker never found out Healy lost his memory and had to be hospitalized as the delinquents took care of themselves. This book is a mystery.

What do You think about Juvie Three, The (2000)?

Justin Jackson English,P.1 10-31-13 The Juvie Three Book Review The Juvie Three is about three kids who are in different Juvenile departments. The kid’s names are Gecko, Terrance, and Arjay. This guy named Douglas Healy, a former Juvenile delinquent, is opening a halfway house in New York and is giving these kids another chance in the outside world. Through all craziness, the boys go through, they still find ways to stick together. I recommend this book to people who are into crime and investigation. This is really a good book and has so many mysteries in store for anyone who reads this book. Its compelling to me because not only did the kids have another chance at life, but they wanted to let everyone know that want to live their lives and not do anything that’ll get them in trouble. You won’t regret reading this book.Overall this book is very interesting. This book has so many twist and mysteries behind every chapter and you’ll never get enough of all the things that are going on in this book. You may not like the book when first begin to read it, but as you go deeper and deeper into the book, its very good. If you see this book in a library, don’t think twice about picking it up. Get The Juvie Three and read it all the way through.

The Juvie Three is a book about three kids who are currently in a juvenile detention center or jail. The book starts off with Gram Fosse A.K.A (Gecko) hot wiring and stealing a car. Gecko is an expert driver and has been doing it for his older because he is the thief who enforced Gecko to drive. One day the cops found them and Gecko was commanded to drive so he did with great skill. Until he crashed. When Gecko woke up all he knew was that he had been caught. At Geckos trail he was sentenced to juvie and his brother to the adult jail. Later on he was selected one of three people to go to a new half-way house. Him and two other people had to live by the rules and get along or else it is back to the big house.
