Nick is gay and they share a couple of intimate moments but Nick doesn't want to have anything permanent. Ian then meets Hannah and starts to have a sex only relationship. When Hannah meets Nick there is an instant attraction. Individually, the 3 main characters had struggles...disappointment, struggles, injuries in war, being left a single parent, financial hardships. The 3 of them finding each other was more than steamy sex. It was about healing, and hope, and family. The way it was written was also not like most menege or poly books I've read. I loved it and wanted it to keep going.
