From Darkness Won (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

By darkness won was a great book with strong characters. I especially liked that Vrell did whatever SHE wanted to do instead of immediately falling for Achan and becoming a weakling who just runs after her boyfriend wherever she goes.Although this was clearly a Christian fantasy book (Arman has a son Caan who dies for his people and is resurrected 3 days later), it was still a great book to read if your you're an atheist, Moslim or Jew since there was more to the book than just Arman driving back darkness. From Darkness WonBy: Jill WilliamsonI read this book a while ago, and, just like the previous ones in the series, FANTASTIC. I loved every second reading it. It was a very nice addition to the other books, and there were some epic battle scenes that were really nicely played out. Our Antagonist, Esek, or the imposter of, Prince Gidon (spoilers) overthrows Armonguard, and Achan has to take up arms with his troops, and take it back. Sparrow (Averella) [Vrell Sparrow] is weaving in and out of the perspective of Achan’s Point of View. I like how Jill Williamson portrayed the “Bloodvoicing” Capabilities in the series, and to be honest, I wouldn’t mind being able to bloodvoice my self. Just pure sweet and awesomeness. Master Hadar was being pretty sketchy with Vrell, but she also learned some new tactics in Storming another person’s mind, and how to not knock herself out for staying in the void for too long. It is definitely a great book/series, and I loved every moment of it. I would love a continuation of life in Er’Rets with (spoiler) Queen Averella and King Achan’s life, and the battles that they will have to face in the aftermath. I also wonder how far the Evenwall will push across Er’Rets. Sketchy Stuff that is. 10/10 for “From Darkness Won” by Me (Daniel)

I am giving this book a 4.5. I loved the ending, but I did like it when Vrell lost her memories.
