Four Weddings And A Kiss (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

This novel starts out with a young preacher determined not to marry the girl he loves. She's unconventional and he's positive she's not going to be accepted by his parishioners. She's wild and unruly, and actually plays...games! For pete's sake, who wouldn't have a problem with that?! It's up to his four older, wiser - and meddlesome - companions to show him the errors in his thinking. These four novellas are a delight to read. They pack a wollop of a punch from four very talented authors and ring true. A woman who doesn't dress the way others think she should? Another who's accused of murder? When God decides to put people together, watch out. He's going to get His way, come what may. Each story hits home with a different theme we can all learn from. Forgiveness of others, loving someone for who they are, seeking God's direction in situations, trusting others, etc, the lessons don't stop. This is a fun set of novellas I will read over and over again - if not for the lesson, at least for the chuckles. How many of us started out with someone we thought might not be right for us? Maybe he didn't have the background you thought he should, either his parents or yours objected to the relationship, or maybe, as in my case, his name wasn't right and he didn't like cats. I mean, come on! How is this going to work?! But one thing I've found, God knows what He's doing. Sometimes, we just need to let go and let God take control.*My thanks to the publisher for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. These thoughts are my own, and I was not required they be positive.* I just finished reading Four Weddings and a Kiss, by Margaret Brownley, Robin Lee Hatcher, Mary Connealy, and Debra Clopton. Each story was amazing. I truly enjoyed Spitfire Sweatheart, by Mary Connealy. Maizy ( dude, I LOVE THIS NAME!) a tough cowgirl does not listen to her neighbor and causes Rylan to get injured rescuing her. She nurses him back to health dressed like the lady she is supposed to be. Of course typical ending. But sweet!A Love Letter to the Editor, by Robin Lee Hatcher. Love this author! I recently reviewed another book by her here . Molly wants the editor position in her father’s newspaper. However, he hires Jack instead. Jack, wants to visit more of the west and does not plan on being around for more than a couple of years. Again, another typical ending. Jack and Molly get together of course. But the middle is so endearing. I hated to put down the story. Molly loves writing and she doesn’t write fluff pieces either. It is a great read. Robin keeps the reader intrigued.A Cowboy for Katie, by Debra Clopton. Katie endures a tornado and lost her father. She lost everything. The men in town keep coming after her for her hand in marriage just to get their hands on her land. She hires Treb to build her home. Treb helps her to overcome her fear of being inside of places. Very interesting to read. Debra keeps you wanting to turn the page. Or in my case, swipe the screen as I read this on my Kindle.Courting Trouble, by Margaret Brownley is an inspiring tale. Brock takes on a legal case because a young boy asked him to talk to his mom. Grace is in jail for killing her husband and has a name in town called the Black Widower. She has been married 3 times and all 3 husbands have died. She wants what is best for her son and is willing to go to jail if he is safe with the pastor. Brock however, takes her case and does his best to make sure she has a fair trial.I really enjoyed reading all four tales. I give Four Weddings and a Kiss, 4 stars. Each of the stories has intriguing qualities about them and I am sure you, my readers will love them!
