Diamond Willow (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

This is a poetry book that I just absolutely love! I do not like poetry very well. What I love most about this book is that each poem is telling a story, the same story, with a hidden message in each. The hidden message is bolded. I absolutely love that part! What I do not like about this book is that the way the character's emotions were described by the author. That is the only thing I dislike about this book! Diamond willow is an amazing book. The setting takes place in a made up town in Alaska. Willow the main character, who is 12 lives out in Alaska with her dad, her brother, and her mom. There grandparents don’t live far away either. All of willows life she has lived with their families 6 sled dogs, Roxy, Magoo, Samson, Prince, Lucky, and Cora. Willow just wants to blend in with everyone else and not stick out. All Willow wants is to mush dogs with Roxy in the lead. Then one day when Willow is going to their grandparents house something happens and Willow has to go to desperate measures and do what she thinks is right to save her beloved sled dog, and hear the real truth, that she had a twin sister.Diamond Willow is an amazing book about a girl and her dogs. Diamond Willow is written in all poems in the shape of diamonds. Once you finish the book you can go page by page and read the bolded words and it tells you the story in a different way. This book is full of adventure and heart. If you like a book where a character would break the rules to do the right thing, and got to desperate measures to do it, than this book is perfect for you. I loved this book and it is very well written, and I think that other readers will love it to.

What do You think about Diamond Willow (2008)?

Just go through the book after you read it and only read the bold type. It's really cool.
