Devil's Pass Unabridged Audiobook (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Best of the series. Here's my order of best to worst:1. Devil's Pass2. Between Heaven and Earth3. Close to the Heel4. Ink Me5. Jump Cut6. Lost Cause7. Last MessageThe first three on my list were very well done. The fourth had an unusual POV but was pulled together excellently- for sure the most well-written- and I would have put it higher except it wasn't quite as exciting as the others. The last three on my list basically sucked completely- the characters were poorly developed, whiny, and not interesting, and the story lines were both boring and didn't give good explanations for the reasoning behind the silly 'quests'. Out of the bottom three Jump Cut was the best only because it was interconnected to Ink Me. Webb's stepfather is an abusive man, leading him to live on the streets; working as a dishwasher. His grandfather gave him a task before he died with all the things he needs to complete it including money. He sets off to Canol Trail in the north of Canada and discovers shocking secrets. He learned many great stuff but most importantly, he learned "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." With that in mind, he faces bears, people hunting him and tries to figure out what he wants to do with his own life. I picked this book up mainly because it was a Red Maple book. In grade 6, I did take this book out but it wasn't really interesting so I stopped 1/4 of the way but it's now a Red Maple book so I said why not? The book was probably not near the climax A.K.A. the good part yet.The reason I finished this book was because I told myself that I would finish it even though it was bad because I knew there was something about this book! It would make me feel excited at one point, then make me feel bored. I'm glad I did finish this book though! I love the ending the most because I felt really happy because Webb finally talked with his mom again. I would recommend this book to Sandy. I don't really know her really well but I think she's the type who likes adventure and mystery.
