Daisy has started her senior year and everything seems to be going fine. Her father has been returned to them and although he is going through some adjustments after his confinement, it is so nice to have the family together. But all is not well in Night Shade as paranormals in the town start receiving blackmail notes and the chef from Hell is running the best restaurant in town. These books are so much fun. They would be great for tweens and teens. I like the friendships and family relationships. The romance is sweet and chaste. Can't wait to see what happens next. Another book in the series. Author is certainly consistent. She's not a favorite and, while her books don't ramp up as the series goes on, she doesn't get any worse. In this book, Daisy's father has returned home but is having trouble coping with the fact that he's been gone for six years and that Daisy is no longer twelve. She is also dealing with the fact that she has won the chance to work with a famous chef, but one who is demanding, overly critical, and probably supernatural. Also, the new guidance counselor seems to be pitting parents against their supernatural children and even Daisy's father against her boyfriend. What's a senior to do?
