Katherine, aka K.O. writes Christmas letters for people. She also does medical transcription at home, to earn money while she is trying to find a job in public relations. Her sister, Zelda loves the book, "The Free Child," by child psychologist, Dr. Wynn Jeffries. He teaches that children should be given no boundaries, such as forced bedtimes & meals, that the child should choose when & what he/she eats, etc. Zelda's twin 5 year old girls have become little monsters since Zelda has been following Dr. Jeffries' methods He also teaches that children should not be taught fantasies, such as Santa, the tooth fairy, etc. So, Christmas has been basically cancelled in Zelda's home. Katherine thinks this is crazy, & she can't stand Dr. Jeffries & his book. She has even been kicked out of a book store because she was ranting about this book. Little did Katherine know that Dr. Jeffries (Wynn) lives right in her building.Much to her horror, she sees him go into her building. She meets her friend & neighbor, LaVonne, who tells her he does, indeed, live in the building. LaVonne has taken a class on psychic abilities & thinks she has the ability to see the future. She feels she sees romance in Katherine's future - between Katherine and, yes, you guessed it, Wynn Jeffries. So, she decides to invite Katherine to her home for drinks, & invites Wynn also. Will there be a romance, or will there be a war? You'll have to read the book to find out. Zelda, hearing that Dr. Wynn Jeffries lives in Katherine's building, insists she get his autograph for her. Katherine wonders if she can get Dr. Jeffries to see the behavior of Zelda's girls, to prove to him how his theories are terrible.The book is filled with Christmas spirit, romance & chaos. It is funny at times & infuriating at other times. Overall, it is a good book. I just felt it was more of a stand-alone book than a Blossom Street book. Other than mentioning Blossom Street, I saw no connection to the series. In the last 20 pages, we get a brief mention of a few of the characters from the Blossom Street series, but that just seemed an attempt to make it part of the series. I felt it would have been left out of the series. But, it's still enjoyable, & I recommend reading it. :)
I have a confession to make: I am a sucker for Christmas romance books and Lifetime movies that ooze with sentimentality. Come on ladies, you have to admit those movies of the week are so bad, they’re good! I don’t know if it’s the scent of balsam pine that fills the air, or the twinkling fairy lights that transform my normally drab living room into a winter wonderland, but Christmastime always brings out the sap in me.That’s why I couldn’t resist picking up “Christmas Letters,” a paint-by-the-numbers holiday romance about an aspiring book publicist named K.O. who ghostwrites other people’s Christmas letters. Who knew people actually needed to hire someone to write Christmas letters? I usually scribble something generic like “Have a merry Christmas y’all” and call it a day. But I digress. K.O. utterly loathes Dr. Wynn Jeffries, best-selling author of a child-rearing book that advocates no boundaries for kids. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me! So K.O.’s sister, a Dr. Jeffries groupie, follows the book religiously and allows her twins to turn into tyrannical terrors. Upset by the harm the book has caused, K.O. makes it her mission to hunt down the good doctor and expose him for the childless, psycho-babbling quack that he is. But things get complicated when she discovers he lives in her building and her loopy, tea leaf-reading neighbor attempts to play matchmaker. After getting suckered into having dinner with the strapping eligible bachelor, K.O.’s deep-seated anger is soon taken over by lust. As many of these love-hate romances go, the storyline is predictable and wrapped up with a cute little bow. Although you’ll most likely predict the outcome after reading the first couple chapters, this book is sure to give you the warm fuzzies. So grab your Snuggie (I know you have one!) and a steaming cup of cocoa and curl up with this cozy little romance!

Um.... Is there supposed to be someone in this book I actually like? Because it just did NOT happen for me. The main Character "K.O." allowed her sister to treat her like crap. Seriously. If someone treated ME like her sister treated her - I would go OFF. I think the rudneness and selfish behavior of the people in this book was supposed to be the comedy portion of the book - but I was NOT feeling it. It just came across as a bunch of immature jerks banging into each other. I had a really hard time with the whole book honestly. K.O. was dating a man whose lifework as a psychologist was putting a theory out into the world that children should set their own boundaries and he advocated "the free child" theory. K.O. watched her nieces go from well adjusted children to BRATS on this system that her sister (the jerk) implimented. So K.O. goes into the relationship with the attitude "He's perfect except for this whole "Lifework" thing". Um... That is not a small thing people. Why would you go into a relationship with someone who you had THAT large of a difference in world view. This guy is on radio shows talking about his book, going to book stores to autograph this book, and spent years perfecting his theory. He is being called the "Next Dr. Spock" - and you vocally HATE his theories - but maybe you can still date him? Um. No. Not buying it lady. This one was a dud for me.

Gerçekten aşırı hızlı şekilde ilerliyor, misal 19. sayfa da birbirlerinden nefret ederlerken 20. sayfa da yemeğe çıktılar; öyle yada böyle. Bu da çok garip oldu açıkçası, tamam Debbie'nin daha önce bir kitabını okuduğum için çok büyük bir beklentim yoktu ama bu biraz fazla oldu. İlk okuduğum kitabı daha başarılıydı açıkçası.
