Blythe College Series Box Set (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

There is no way for me to ever pick a favorite out of these books! The best thing I ever did was pick up the box set because I didn't want to stop reading them once I started!!Drake, oh Drake how you make my insides tingly just thinking about him!! He and Lexi were ultimately number one in my book since they started the series. To watch Lexi come out of the shell she was living in after her ex treated her so badly was awesome to watch. Knowing how Drake per sued her relentlessly and how she and him made the perfect couple totally sucked me into this series. One hot rugby player... Check.. One awesome pilot who gives new meaning to the mile high club and explosive chemistry between them! Off the charts hot sex... Make this a must read in my book.Next up we have Jackson and Kaylie, there story was one of true love and how when it finally hits you nothing will stop you. Dance has been everything to Kaylie since her parents died and going back to where their love story started felt like something she needed to do. If she wanted to follow her dream that meant no time for distractions, especially when they come in the form of Jackson Silver. Jackson thought Lexie was the one for him he thought if he fooled around and got it out of his system while he waited for her to be ready it was the right thing. When she chose one of his frat brothers he thought he was crushed. Little did he know that feeling he had for lexi was nothing compared to what knocked his socks off when he met Kaylie. Their story was cute and made me long for a relationship like theirs. A love so strong that you would do anything for the other person even if it meant putting your dream on a different path, just to be with that person. And lastly we have Aubrey and Luka, the Russian hockey player who had his heart ripped out. Que the Sighs ladies because the beginning of their story makes you fall head over heels for the Hockey God. Aubrey has been on a self induced dry spell after going no where fast with her last few relationships, if you can call them that. They are more dates that end after the third or fourth one. That didn't stop the guys from saying she put out or that she got around. When you read Luka and Aubrey's story you are in for one big old alpha caveman kinda ride!! Hot sex, dirty talking and hockey what more can you ask for!Rochelle did an awesome job with making me feel like I'm part of their stories, she painted a beautiful movie in my head that I didn't want to end! I can't wait for more from this awesome author! If you haven’t me the crowd at Blythe College, you are seriously missing out. I stumbled across Drake and Lexi one day and completely fell in love. Once I finished their story, I had to keep going! Every book was as good as the first. So, I was in heaven when they became available as a series box set! Rochelle Paige is a master as the swoon-worthy, alpha males. Simply delicious! Lexi is such a fun character. Her personality is so engaging, you can’t help but want to be her friend. She is sweet, loving, and so determined to succeed. She has some sass in her that kept me chuckling throughout the story. I wasn’t sure how I wanted her to handle Drake’s attitude, his cocky assurance that she would be his. But, as it played out, I loved the way the story unfolded. She didn’t roll over and agree right away, but she also didn’t fight her feelings for him. It’s not a romance novel without some conflict between the hero and heroine, but I appreciated that it was kept to a minimum and instead, we got to watch their relationship grow. Drake… oh Drake. I would be more than happy to join the mile high club with that man. He is self-assured and cocky, possessive and determined, but all that is mixed with sweet love, devotion, and passion. That recipe is called “sex on a stick.” Yup, do what you will with that imagery. Drake is convinced that he and Lexi are meant to be together, but he way he gives her time to figure it out, was so incredible. He is so patient, despite his burning attraction and need to make her officially his. I was melted right into a puddle…Kaylie was a little more intense than Lexi, but I connected with her faster than I expected. She has closed herself off to love for good reason. The largest factor being that any relationship in college, would distract her from her goal of becoming a professional dancer in New York. And yet, Jackson somehow breaks through those walls. Her determination to reach those goals put a wrench in their budding romance, but I completely respected her for not losing sight of the end game. Jackson definitely stole my heart by the end of the book. However, it took me a little longer to warm up to him. His misplaced “love” and subsequent heartbreak over Lexi, started the process of changing his man-whore ways. Then Kaylie starts to make him recognize that what he thought was love may have simply been an idea, rather than the actual feelings. He’s a little thick headed about it, and I kind of wanted to smack him upside the head from time to time, but damn, that boy knows how to turn on the sexy and forgive him anything. There was more angst in this book, my heart broke for them a little as they fell in love, with the ever looming possibility of being separated at graduation. If I hadn’t already fallen for Jackson, the story’s end would pushed me right over that edge.Summer Nights was such a great addition to this series. I can never get enough of Drake and Lexi. It was a surprise to see Rochelle throw a little thrill and suspense into the story. It definitely gave this novella an element that kept you from feeling as though it was just an extended epilogue. She did a fabulous job. The end… oh the end made me so freaking happy….Then there is Charlotte and Shane. Charlotte added such a fun dynamic to the other two stories and I was psyched that we got a whole novella to focus on her story. She is a hoot, I enjoyed her so much in the other books. Then to see her in another environment, one that doesn’t involve the gang from Blythe, it built her into a solid character in her own right, rather than continuing on as the funny, supportive friend. Her attitude toward the women in town… OMG, I want to be that girl. She isn’t made of stone, where things don’t hurt, but she just lets it slide off her back and moves on with confidence in herself and in her relationship with Shane. Her fears are understandable as well. Shane blasted out of the sexy meter from the very beginning. His adoration of Charlotte is mixed perfectly with his alpha personality, making for a panty-melting hero. Not to mention that he is the ultimate supportive boyfriend. He waits for Charlotte so patiently (well, he makes it seem that way, so Charlotte doesn’t cave to guilt and come home until graduation. That just makes him even more…well, just more) and he is consumed with peace and happiness when she returns to him.Their story is sweet and tender, with a hot passion that burns right off the page. This was an awesome addition to the series. Aubrey, who doesn’t love Aubrey? She is freaking hysterical. Of course, she began to be a little more grounded in Hit the Wall, and we get to really see that new side of her in Outside the Box. Aubrey is turning things around as far as her “relationships,” or lack thereof. I could understand her reluctance to be with another guy after her pregnancy scare. However, in some ways, I think she didn’t truly understand what love is, or feels like. It can be overwhelming. Just like all of Rochelle’s other books, Luka is what dreams are made of. It’s hard to get a whole lot sexier that a hockey hottie whispering sweet nothings in your ear…in Russian. Luka’s insecurities broke my heart. While they had some justification to them, I was so afraid they would ruin the budding trust and love between him and Aubrey. He is so sweet, but we still get that possessive, alpha male side that burns up my sheets on the other side of the pages. I was proud of these two by the end, for finding the path to happiness. It was so sad to say goodbye.
